When you go on holiday, you don’t take a lot with you, yet you have a good time? Years ago there were no mobile phones, laptops, internet connections or generally much contact with the “media world” (A newspaper in Spain cost as much as a Ryan Air flight does now!) you left behind, and we “Didn’t” miss or need it! The only “Soaps” were Crossroads and Coronation Street and there were no VCR’s to record a “Mustn’t miss” episode. 2 weeks of bliss or at least relaxation that left one feeling invigorated and ready to face the realities of work life again.

My question is: “what the fuck have we allowed ourselves to become!? Television certainly IS the Opiate of the masses and we “Know” it! We now feel we can’t live without all the “Tools” that keep us mired in minutiae. Oh don’t kid yourself, it is as much an addiction as smoking or chocolate, only, the pleasures are as fleeting as a cigarette or Cadburys whole nut.

Most of the shit we now have streamed constantly via the wicked world web was still there but because we didn’t have it 24/7 we could ignore it; but now? Now we don’t have ANY excuse for ignoring it what are we doing? “Ignoring it”! still thinking “It won’t affect us”  still falsely believing our Politicians will sort it out! “When did they ever”!!!

Tsunami and earthquake happen “somewhere else” revolution and civil war are 3^rd world problems, famine and disease are “solvable”  “So how many thousands of years will it take” whilst there is “ONE” Billionaire and “ONE” Pauper, I won’t be satisfied we are taking it seriously! You can bet your bottom dollar there is a Billionaire somewhere trying to become a “Trillionaire”! and he doesn’t give a flying fuck how, or what the consequences are. “Money” is a disease we all suffer from and have stopped looking for a “Cure” we have become very clever at “justifying” it without seriously looking at how we could benefit from eradicating it. I am not religious but JC said 2000 years ago “money is the root of all evil” yet the people with the most still go to church and feign piety! And the Church’s have shit loads of it too.

I used to wonder if I had it wrong, my feelings, but just looking at the few who have done the most “Good” in the world, and how little “Money” they had, is evidence enough for me. And we laud their virtues and continue to collect the paper illusions that prop up the transient benefits. How fucking stupid is that!

6 tonnes of water to make one pair of jeans! Hmmmmm, that doesn’t seem like a very clever deal to me! Why don’t Levi’s tell us THAT on the label? Smokers are told that Smoking can reduce fertility, “Great” let’s all start smoking again and bring the population down. What is this lunatic drive to keep making more babies who can then consume more resources that will inevitable mean, less, or nothing, for us in the end! Do you really need to be a scientist to discover that if we don’t stop making humans, we ARE going to run out of everything! Why are we choosing to believe “everything will work out ok” when it is just as likely “Everything will NOT work out alright” have we suckered for the “Glass half full” bullshit? Ever wonder where the “other half is” and why does it have to be “Half full”? why can’t it be “Brimming” or “Overflowing” you can bet another bottom dollar that somewhere someone has millions of glasses absolutely full (of your other half) and millions of other people don’t even have a “Glass”!
